The National Transport Commission has informed the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association (LPBOA) that a 5.3% bus fare increase will be effective from the 22nd of Tuesday of this month. The minimum fare of six rupees will not be affected by this increase.
The President of the LPBOA speaking at a press conference held today further stated, that they were dependent on the National Transport Policy but that it has not been carried out in a proper manner. He also noted that they were still awaiting the release of the joint time tables for the private and CTB buses, which will immensely benefit the public. (GS & SD)
