my understanding, china trade war with USA nothing to do with HK. Problem was HK court cases want to shift to China. HK have proper legal system(like english system). Even sri lankan lawyers also working in HK. Namely prominent law scholar Nihal Jayawickram also worked HK, advisor to the governor Chir Pattern.
