No.. That's not correct.. They didn't setup the towers or even had not recruited engineers until around November.. Yet, they had promised to launch in January, 2008

ok .. then they have now the recruited engineers ? but what the fuzz about the inter connection problem ???

Airtel management is not so friendly.. Probably because Indian.. But they hesitate a bit to state their ideas in public.. They always treat you a bit with suspect.. Not so professional though

But they have at least that feature right.. If you reload again, the incoming free duration gets added, not just renewed ( that is, ten more days from the current end date if you reload by 100 today )

Really the government law on increasing international SMS is so stupid.. But what about Dialog My10 ? You could have texted for 50cents I believe

how is the international SMS chrges Dialog n Mobitel ... 2.50 + tax ( Local SMS )

Anyway, inter connection is given now..

Inter connection is now available between all the FIVE operators..
International SMS are at a fixed rate of Rs.5 + tax for all the operators, a regulation set up by the government ( Mobitel 10% and 20% discounts are exceptions, where you pay less.. Around Rs.5.60 for an international SMS )

I run a few blogs and hence contacted a few top notch Airtel officials on media stuff

Airtel network does work and function fine.. You can receive calls, SMS from Airtel numbers
They are still testing and will start giving out SIMs as they launch..

Two working numbers, 0751111111 and 0755755755 have now been diverted to No Answer modes.. Mama kiwwe oka wedakarana kattiya maha muspeththu jaatiyak kiyala.. If it was a professional and proactive network like Dialog, they would answer you and talk or at least let the number ring, so as to avoid customer distraction..
