This helps me many times by avoiding accidents. With ice/snow, this is a must.
In old days, people manually apply/release breaks, if the cars is skidding (like ABS). But that is not effective as it is fraction of second we have to respond before colliding. Usually we apply break full when car is skidding.
Modern cars have this feature as a standard.
