Ummmm.. :P

If u really wanna stick on to da question,
Then u both are wrong :P

Coz he's asking help to make appear the hobernate icon
There's no such icon in Windows XP nor in Vista  :P (jk)

lolzzz    :D

BTW,
Go Start -> Control Panel -> Power Options,
Then click on the Hibernate tab,
Then check the 'Enable Hibernation' Checkbox,
Then click Apply and OK
This will Enable Hibernation

You need to do this first if that Shift hold thing wont work...

NOTE : This will take/reserve about 500MB of ur Disk Space on drive C:
Ok, hobernate is a typing mistake. Don't be that n00bish.

I can't remember XP, but isn't Hibernation enabled by default? (if there is enough disk space in C: ) I can't remember. It is enabled by default in Vista, at least for me :D

And, the size of the hiberfile.sys file is exactly the same size as your physical RAM. If you have 2GB RAM, the file will be 2GB.

Only if there is enough disck space I think :)
    My one got enabled too..
But not at the first run..
Has to restart ur machine after the first install to enable even the standby mode.

    3GB in fact.

What hibernation does is save the contents of your RAM to that file. The file has to contain all the bytes in the RAM. So is has to be the same size.

    P.S.
Standby might be disabled if there aren't proper VGA drivers installed.

The thing is, how do you know whether he is asking about XP or Vista? If he is asking about Vista, your answer is not applicable. (How can something which is not applicable be practical? :D)
its up to him to decide what he wanna use, i gave my practical answer:D:P
You have ur right to give him ur version of solution. Got that ??
(but try to make it simple, so anyone can understand:D)
