going to Core 2 Quads now = fail
yes especially when there is no price advantage of DDR2 over DDR3 nowadays.
core i5 is the better choice. but of course you can't find a compatible motherboard for 10000 :D

if you already have a c2d and only upgrading it, NOT buying completely new, then the Core 2 Quad makes sense. for a new rig, not so good.

bro u are saying C2Q is no a wise choice? :)

What he is saying is that if you are buying a C2Q while having a C2D at home, that cannot be interpreted as an effective upgrade! U won't see a huge performance increase!!!:no::no: As you hv said earlier that if u won't be playing games for some time cos of A/Ls I am curious y wud u buy another system instead of upgrading the current VGA + PSU. It wud be better if u wud do that and later on buy a good i5 system. Cos this rig wud be heavily outdated in a year or so.:no::no::no:

if you don't overclock a lot, use the stock cooler.
stock cooler will still be able to handle a decent overclock without issues.

 Stock cooler is not that good, pls do u know a good CPU cooler (BTW I do wanna overclock ;))
