Academic Qualifications recognized by IESL

1 BSc. Engineering Degrees of University of Peradeniya, Moratuwa, and Ruhuna.

2 IESL Engineering examinations (part I and II of old syllabus or Part I, II, and III of new syllabus)

3 B. Tech. Degree of Open University of Sri Lanka ( Entry year – 2003 onwards)

4 A full time four year engineering degree from a foreign university accredited under Washington Accord

5 Engineering Council Examinations of UK up to and including Post Graduate Diploma.

6 Engineering degrees Accredited by the IEI or the National Board of Accreditation of All India Council of Technical Education.

7 Other qualifications assessed on a case by case basis by IESL.


OUSL Btec Degree is going through the process to accredit under Washington Accord.

Are in support of the IESLs requirement of 2Cs and a S for their membership When minimum requirement to enter uni is 3Ss?
Is there not enough Space for IESL memberships like in our universities?

yeah why not. I personally think they should at least ask for 3Cs because A/L is a childsplay compared to an engineering degree. so a person who "genuinely" goes through an engineering degree definitely has a A/L certificate with more than 3 Cs. if not, how he managed to go through the degree is doubtful.

btw 3S is minimum for "university entrance". not for "engineering faculty entrance". you will never enter a state uni engineering faculty without at least 3Bs. but you can go for other minor degrees like agro bla bla with Cs and Ss in your A/L result sheet
