There was such a scheme a long time ago - probably 10 years ago or more. But it was later stopped. So you better check this up with Customs first.

You got to prove that it's from a close relative and again you have to make an APPLICATION first.
You better contact someone from SL customs to give you a tip on what to do now.

Oops... Then a real problem. The best is to contact Import Control as the Customs web site informs. They will have the correct information.

Gift widihata ewanna puluwan. duty full gewanna wena eka nawaththan ba... approval eka ganna ona customs & RMV also.

You can't import a vehicle without a valid L/C. Neither blue permits (Gifts) are allowed now. Neither any special permits are allowed now.
Basically there's 0 ways to get it to SL for next 3 months (Until LCs are being allowed).
