SuchirIndia, an Indian construction company has entered into a collaboration with the Sri Lankan firm NEB Rapid Infrastructure Projects through a Special Project Vehicle (SPV) to build a 40-storied tower in Battaramulla, suburb of capital Colombo.
The $250 million project aims to construct a 1.2 million square feet tower complex comprising a 40-storied commercial complex in the first phase and a 70-storied residential tower in its second phase.
According to the Indian company officials, the commercial complex is estimated to cost $110 million, while the second phase to construct the residential unit will cost an estimated $140 million.
The complex is expected to be completed in 30 months. When completed, the structure will become the tallest building in Sri Lanka.
SuchirIndia is hoping to establish its presence in Sri Lanka with this project, a company official said.
