Why not? Hard disk is the slowest component in the PC. If the access time of flash drives is 25 times better than typical 7200RPM drives, well, we can expect it to install fast. Maybe not exactly 3 minutes. We don't know from which point to which point they counted 3 minutes ne?MCLINER said:

) you can carry ur desktop + settings + files + apps anywhere u go and plug in your USB and boot! there u have your desktop in that computer.. and all the work u do will be saved to the USB so u can just remove the USB and take asomewhere else and start working from the place you stopped when u left the last place... 
its mobile, and people already do it with linux distros... i don't know about vista, hey! there is this commercial thing called mojo pack... give it a search.. it does the same thing with XP..

Yeah, maybe XP.
There's Bart PE. FOSS Windows XP Live CD maker. It can be used to create Windows XP Live environment for a USB stick too.
Only problem is that no many PCs can be booted from a USB stick.
I'm sure Vista can be turned in to a Live CD or DVD as well. It'll not have the loads of eye candy that vista has but only the core system with additional tools to use it as a rescue CD/DVD

hehe.. well if u have a 2GB one... u can carry some 4.5GB of data... in it... with some liveCD like linux environments... with a compressed file system... if not u simply buy a external HD!Anusha said:

but there is a risk when u are using a flash drive... when u run a OS from a flash drive it tend to die very quickly than normally... so better opt for a HD.(i guess this happens cause of the constant read write...)
