GPS is on sl it works any where in the Global Earth but Srilanka Map is not added to the gps data base our goverment must submit the map to USA to put it to the data base then only it will work on roads where ever v go..its a gud thing..NASA Owns the GPS..

the maps in google earth are not up to date. Doesnt have up to date road maps or city maps.
That's the problem.
Besides, SL hardly needs GPS to find the way.

GPS Satelites belongs to NASA Usa the whole world uses that Service for free..
ya google has maps those are taken images from satellites but not active for navigation.. .1st our government must give maps and correct road info to a Inch..
any ways i hope itl be given soon coz in srilanka the mobile technology is advanced ..
u dnt get 3g in dubai and in india 3g just came when v use 3.5g..
Srilanka is easy to cover coz its a small country..

as i know sat nav uses same technology called GPS. it uses satellite. not towers

it works perfectly, have tested it thoroughly.

needs someone to enter city names, hotels etc into a database to take full advantage of it.
