ru usin da newest version? dose new codecs take time to be implemented on VLC === bt mann da video gets stuk in VLC wen playin WMV files dats bcoz ms is not givin out the actual decoder system ...da fault is at ms's hand dey dont want othrs to develop decoders for their formats ...so wht othr programmers do is to take chances on developin a gud enuf decoder to play those files...i think dats wht has happend here ....try dat with free codecs like xvid ...
Yes, just downloaded it :D

WMV is playing back fine. Just the audio portion is not. So it's VLC's fault.

I'm sure the WMV decoder can be use by any player. Only the encoder is not allowed, unless bought the license from MS.

And how come other players can do better? Even JetAudio runs better with WMV-HD than Windows Media Player. I'm talking about the hardware acceleration. CPU usage it lower in JetAudio than in WMP.

Yes WMV decoder by ms is usable wit other players bt VLC needs their own decoder bcoz VLC is a crossplatform player same thing happend to winamp[dey needed to get da meta file info frm wmv,wma files] winamp guys had to write a new plugin for windows media files -wma,wmv..n stuf dey could override da DRM service if dey wanted but dey didnt; VLC is lyk dat too; i havnt evn heard of dat format until u mentioned it ;)
Does JetAudio run on MAC os? linux? FreeBSD/? i dont think soooo vlc is compiled for each one of those oses, so i think dats wht make it so special.,,;)

But why would video play and audio won't?

Yes, JetAudio is Windows only. And that's all that I care. :D

I played a 1080p High Definition video (WMVHD, Terminator III video from Microsoft) in both VLC player (default settings) and JetAudio (some audio enhancements used).

VLC Player CPU usage

And also, audio didn't play in VLC Player!!! I thought this was the strong point of it - everything played! Not to be, in this case.

JetAudio CPU usage

Conclusion:
VLC Player is not good for HD video playback, at least in the current form
u cant say that..just luk @ the memory usage den..someone can say JO uses more mem

RAM usage:
VLC Player

JetAudio

Actually JetAudio is much more forgiving on the system RAM. VLC fails again!!

This is giving excuses. For me, JetAudio does a better job than VLC. That's it. It's the same issue as with Linux vs. Windows.

hmmm seems like.. but dat player works for me other than WMP
That might be correct. WMP uses the system codecs. VLC or JetAudio uses their own codecs.

thinkin of da RAM den WINAMP is da best it uses only 10 MB in classic skin mode and in modern skins deres no way it could pass 60 MB ;)

n abt VLC ..try minimizin it ..all unwanted classes will be unloaded in window state minimized; it depend on da size of da video...n hey look jetaudios uptime > vlc's uptime dats not real benchmarkin!!! hehee
