Hey guys and girls. Ravi is here for the java lesson. I hope that you will follow these lessons to the very end.
Before move on to the main subject, want to know something from u. have u ever wondered how all these complicated programs are made up.
I know the answer. You will say
“aththatama mama danne naaaaane, Word eke document ekak hadanna nam dannawa, photoshop tikak dannawa. Aththatama kohomada mee programs hadala thiyenne”
I think my guess is quite right.
I think that answer will come out from most of the people who are using computers for their day to day life. But guys, you don’t want to be a person who just does ordinary work through the computer. You should be able to build up those applications. So that’s all about learning java.
What is a computer program???

“Computer program is a set of instructions for a computer to do a specific task”
Hey, did u get the idea? I hope u did. It is a simple thing.
Ok. Now next question. What is a computer language?
As people we all use some kind of language to communicate with each other. Like Sinhala, English and there are many more. So like that to communicate with computers there is a language called computer language.
Ooooooops….did u mix up.
“Computer languages are not only programming language”
Programming languages are subset of computer languages, which means there is something more in computer languages. Can u guess?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm……….how about markup languages, like html.
So that’s about computer languages.
Hey guys “01000010 01001 01001 010110” can u understand what I said.
I know what u are thinking “he is a crazy person...1001000…what the hell is this, I can’t understand anything”
So that’s the problem. You can’t understand codes which are in 1 and 0. But there is a person who can understand those things. “Your computer”

So take a rest. I hope that u understand the basics of computer programs. Hey we are not in the java yet. Basic is a must coz there are people who don’t know what a computer language is.
