"ada"We are waiting for the auspicious time to enter Kilinochchi, says Keheliya
Minister Rambukwella made this predictionat a media briefing held today (26) to inform the security situation of the country.
The Minister evaded a direct answer to the journalists’ querry if the security forces have already entered Kilinochchi town and asked the media not to ask from him the number of kilometers to Kilinochchi. As the Minister stated that security forces were about to chase the LTTE from Kilinochchi, a journalist asked if there was a planned auspiciou time for that. The Minister said in response that the time would be auspicious to the entire country.
Army spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said that there were fighting in Kilinochchi and the forces are advancing from west, south and northeastern directions towards the town. He said that fighting is carried out on the bund around the town as well.
LTTE runs Kilinochchi town since 1998 and the administrrative capital of the Tigers are also in Kilinochchi. The area is a fertile land irrigated with water from Iranamadu tank and chillie, red onion and vegetable are grown there widely.
