create a partition in that 8gb space and then install kubuntu on that new partition.
Do NOT install on the same partition as the windows.

install inside windows if it is possible. its safe, otherwise you are gonna screw ur HDD

you can just boot the PC with the kubuntu CD and use it without installing you know.

short of using a Virtual PC, this is not possible.
Best to install it on a separate partition or just use the live CD.

+ its slow on NTFS
dual booting is pointless IMO. I've been dual booting but can't manage stuff between 2 OSs. fail

You're better of using OpenOffice.
