Lanka Bell is the only company that is having Gigabit Fiber optic ethernet to sri lanka.. not even SLT is having one and most of the Internet Service Providers are using their Bandwidth (for example Dialog wimax). And their Bandwidth is not fully utilized yet so they give more bandwidth for the users than they tell. For instance if you get a 64KBps connection normally it goes up to 75KBps something...

so if you very much concerned about the speed Lankabell WiMax would be a good choice... (I am telling that because currently I am using ADSL, LankaBell WiMax and Mobitel broadband and Lankabell is better in every ways)

but on the other hand most of the time the connection gets interrupted when it is raining. That's not because their WiMax connections go down but whole Lanka Bell back bone goes down..

but recently I didn't experience that problem also. I think they have overcome that problem...

well mobitel uses slt bandwith too.. and dialog also uses some of slt bandwidth and there own MTN network cable as well and slt webservers and .lk domain name servers use slt banndwith too..

lankabell has no web-hosting they only provide internet.. and due to less users the speeds are maxa... and they have bandwidth to deliver more customers than slt does.. coz of there fiber cable.. and lankabell has only limited areas covered.. so again less users...

i download average 4gb perday and i get No line drops even @ bad weather times even @ rain.... i have 30dB signals on wimax..
and the speeds are excellent.. best thing 100% srilankan..
