I guess this problem occured because the two guys are from different religions so they can't marry coz of their parents... So now they want to be together but still can't marry coz of the parents

Wrong. ! They have the full concent of the parents. The problem lies in those two people understanding that they are from two very different backgrounds and both has gone through failed attempts of relationships that now both of they are REALLY carefull on what they do "next"

In Sri Lanka I guess still the de-facto relationships are not acceptable. If something happens legally they can't stand for each other.

Well if that is the case I really don't understand why they don't marry?

Understanding comes with love... If they love and hang around for sometime, deff they will understand each other. (Hanging around doesn't mean that living together.)

If they have gone through so much of 'failed attempts', they why should they be together at first?
