Water Board accountant indicted for pumping out millions

The Attorney General has indicted former accountant of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board NWSDB for misusing over Rs. 31 millions.
The accused, Mambulage Ananda alias Ananda Mambula was indicted in four separate cases for misusing Rs. 31,743,254.
The fifty-two-year-old accused was charged for committing these offences between January 31, 2003 and December 31, 2006 while he was the accountant of Colombo North Water Supply and Drainage Board in Dippitigoda, Kelaniya.
In the four separate cases the accused was charged for misusing Rs. 7.7 million, Rs. 11.5 million, Rs. 12.3 million and Rs. 124,200 in the years 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
