But the LTTE has clearly said that they want separate land so, are we ready to gave it ??, then we can go and talk what are the area they want, that is what the peace talks try to do in all past time.

What I said we have to fully wipe out the LTTE and after that there are good Tamil leaders, that we can talk with them if they have problem and short it out

    ..

    Dear all!
As a Tamil guy I have to say my thoughts in this present situation in this country.

You have to admit that once we had a ethnic conflict in this country but now the situation is different. Now no ethnic conflict bcos I'm tamil but I'm in colombo. I feel more safe here than being in Trinco or Jaffna.

When Sri Lanka got independance from British tamil leaders asked for a unitary state not a seperate state, but some sinhala leaders mis used it and did something which can stive the feelings of the Tamils. Till late 70's there were no arm conflict in Sri Lanka only ahimsa protests were hold. Then later on LTTE took the power by beating their opponets.

Till sinhala people feel the problems of the tamil people there will be no solution in this country. bcos LTTE never win the war meanwhile Gov can't fully destroy LTTE.. Thats true.

    Please dont' mis understand me..

Well I agree with you the solution can't be a military one but no one can't really negotiate with armed thugs either. If all Sri Lankans stand up against LTTE, I don't think they'll much of a chance. you might be right... we might not understand the tamil problems but I bet you the solution is not in suicide bombers or claymore mines.

What do you mean by unitary state?? Why Tamils can’t live in jaffna same as they live in welawatha??

I know lot of Tamils live in all over the world but they don’t ask any thing like this in others countries, why they need only from Sri lanka?

I too agree with you guy..
If Sri Lanka Government go for a war then they will loose the support of the India. Now you know Tamil nadu people very much shouting against Sri Lankan government So Indian government have some problems to help Sri Lanka, but wat I can say is they'll never help LTTE they will help Sri Lanka. It's a plus point to Sri Lanka. If Sri Lankans show then as a war favor guys then situation may go worng.
I strogly oppose war. I strongly oppose the attacks by the LTTE as well.
Wat I found is no prob between Tamils and Sinhalese. Now the problems is between LTTE and some politicians..

that's what he meant by unitary state. Unitary means undivided. It's one state rather than separating the country.

Yeah! I know it's hard to accept but it's reality.
Now Sri Lanka is Unitary state. This is wat Ceylon Tamils asked from British. They belived that they can live as they live nowadays but during some bad incidents happened after the independance..
Tamil is a official language in Singapore. Though tamils are not native of singapore. Mostly they went there from India. Indian Tamils have a state so why that type of system is not suitable for Sri Lanka. Late Bandaranayake proposed this system then for some power he made the Sinhala only Law. Which is a turing point in Sri Lankan history.

Hey, You directly addressed me and critized me in this post. Lets get one thing straight, I don't mind you, giving your thoughts out. So do the same. NO need to use filth. The same thing can be said without them.

I live in this country, And I know whats going on. What happens after war? Many will die, properties will get damaged and the country's economy will go down immensely. And At that time the cost of living will be so high, That people wil die from starvation rather than war. We can't afford any more wars.

And killer B, The other stuff you said, they really don't matter to me.(words without meaning).(HIS VACHANA)

Because of its multiracial makeup, Singapore recognises four official languages: English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. English is the language of administration. Malay is the language in which the National Anthem in sung. In schools, children usually take English as the first language and one of the other 3 as a second language. For all intents and purposes, most conversations and business in Singapore are conducted in either English or Mandarin.

See above site, yes in Singapore one of the official languages was Tamil, but not use it as for all administration, so sir lanka was same as that

You may be true but Even for multiracial make up our past learders fail to make tamil as a official language.
Singapore government support tamil langage development specially in Computing even more the Indian or Tamil Nadu government. First Tamil website launched from Singapore.

It's obvious why even in Sri Laka English is the business language.

But most of the Tamil students study in Tamil. and you can see tamil notice boards in Airport and all the place without a single spelling mistake.
Wat we have in Sri Lanka is a bord and something like tamil. Even in the Entrace of Colombo the Name of colombo in Tamil wrote in a wrong manner.

I didn't mean like that. Then of course nearly all the countries around the world have to make Tamil as their official language. I didn't mean like that:(

Wat I say is Tamils living in this country as Sinhalese from the ancient time. So they have the right to ask to make the tamil as the official language. Is there any thing wrong with it?

I got some friends via internet they says it. My school teacher went to Singapore said he found the tamil language in Sign boards. If you look at the bhasha india web portal it says notice bords are in Tamil, Hindi, Chinese & Malay.

If indians are bad then you mean Tamils also bad????? Indias means not only tamils Tamils only 6% in Indian population......
