i had the same issue with my macbook air after put it in to the sleep mode. I took it to an apple genius bar and they fixed it in 10 minutes. They said it was a simple glitch and didnt charge me a penny. most probably you are having the same issue. dont let people play with your laptop go to the authorised dealer.
Your problem could have been just a power management reset. Only got to remove the back cover, take off the battery connectors, reconnect and it must have come back to life ;-(
But this problem appears to be more than that - otherwise the first repairer would have done this obviously as his first step.
This series of motherboards have whats called G3 HotRail power..Can be repaired by a skilled person with proper schematic diagrams.
Also there are second hand parts usually available in eBay! Good luck.

mchn. When the 2nd repair shop said that the repair failed I called the first shop I gave it to who concluded that it is a Power IC issue. So they said that they have received some motherboards similar to mine and said to bring the laptop back to replace components and check if the issue will be resolved.
