I went to KUL > SIN > KUL Last month following is how I planned everything by my self.

Air Tickets Special Offer by Malindo Air (Better than SriLankan must say) CMB > KUL > CMB at 20,100/- (With 30KG and Meals)

KUL to SIN > Air Asia at 4500/- (With just 7kg, have to pay for checkin luggage)

Stayed in SIN for one night (Booked through Booking.com, stayed at Fragrance Hotel for 5600/-) nice little room service great compared to KUL.

Returned on the following day by getting to the JB Sentral Station border via bus and left SIN border around 10pm via Midnight Sleeper Train to KUL.

Arrive at Bukit Bintang (where the cheapest accommodation I found through booking.com) place was ok but not comfy or healthy.

But it was close to many attractions, walking distance to LOW Yat, Sungeiwang, Berjaya Time Square, KLCC Towers, Chinatown, Famous Food Street is where I dined every night.

In SiN and KUL now they charge sales tax which is redeemable via airport, shops has to give form for these and you gotta have the items in hand luggage to show at airport to claim tax. Some shops offer form for purchases more than 100Ringgits only.

Travelling always better on Metro and Buses if you know how to transfer between trains.

Yeah... When you purchase tickets you can add check-in luggage as addons with AirAsia.

May I suggest since you guys are doing a lot of shopping in Malaysia and Only going to Sight See in Singa, you guys land on KUL and then fly to SIN on the same day (because flights are cheap) and return in a form of bus or train since you guys will enjoy the tour. (Don't forget to get Multiple Entry visa to Malaysia - Mention this when applying at Foshwa Lanka). That way you can get 30kg addon for two of you guys and take the essentials with you to SIN and when you get back to KUL do all the shopping.
