from most of my friends and others i have heard that most of the guys in sl prefer getting married to a virgin.....is that rite??i hav also heard that before an arranged marriage also the girl is questioned abt her virginity....is this all rite????
does sl culture go against sex before marraige??n is any guy questioned abt his sexual life before marriage????

n y do many parents not like to keep thier raped daughters with them???y do they think that its sum kind of adupaduwak if the girl has been raped.....i mean it isnt the girls fault anyway ne.....she didnt ask those men to cum n rape her....did she??? so y does all these things happen in sl????

cant trust any guy these days ne.... most of them can just take advantage of u n then leave.....wat will happen nxt??will sum other guy be willing to accept her....well c i personally feel that if its ok for a guy to have sex before marriage then its alrite for a girl too....sum of the guys do watever they wanna do n they go on looking for a virgin to marry.....wat the hell....that isnt rite.....well not everything applies to everyone rite.....so yeah there r people who think abt things differently than to the "kopu kale" kattiya......

u have a point.. its all based on trust...
sort of the sex before marriage issue is not in the SL culture...
then theres also religious implications einvolved so all these things have to be adheared to ...

yeah everything....but im sure lankan culture is changing these days.....im sure life in sl is nw sumwat different to life in sl 15-20 yrs back....i wanna knw abt sl n its culture more but i dont knw how to.....any books that u can recommend for me?? not abt history of sl but just abt the culture.......

sorry i dont really knw abt it.. and even if there were it will be age old stuff... one thing for sure is that in general SL culture is more of family oriented culture.... the main thing is family at least in most cases... religious and social values also play a vital role...

I think now a days it's not common with guys seeking a virgin for marriage.

good old days in Sri Lanka brides have to prove their virginity in their home coming to bride groom's mother and few elderly women. If she was fail to prove it they don't let bride to wear that red saree even. But now a days it's not hapenning in SL as far as I know......

and also I think parent don't throw their raped daughters away specialy in SL. because parents love their children in whatever situations they are....
