    Hi everyone,

Yesterday, I reinstalled Windows and reconnected my OneDrive account. A few hours later, Microsoft suspended my account, stating that I had violated the Microsoft Services Agreement. The reason they gave was that a file in my OneDrive contained copyrighted material. I have the paid subscription.

In their message, they instructed me to submit an appeal through https://aka.ms/AccountAppeal, which I have already done. However, I haven’t received any response from them yet.

Has anyone else experienced this or know how to resolve it?

They could have easily removed it and inform you. That would have been the logical approach. If you have copyrighted material just encrypt them beforehand.

Yes, now I feel that they steal all my data and violate their agreed customer service.

They keep suspending accounts for months now. Few of my SharePoint accounts got suspended as well but they had way too much movies in them . If it's a personal account you should probably appeal it will take few weeks or months to get your account back but you can surely get it back

You can have copyrighted material but these should not be shared. Say if I legally purchase a movie or music, I should be able to store it in there.

Microsoft does not terminate accounts just because you had pirated contents
did you share the hosted files over the internet?

i do have over 5TB X 25 sharepoint storage, they all fine

I didn't do that from the accounts I had which belonged to a organization (which is obviously fake). I guess some others did share their content online. Finally they ended up suspending the whole organization including all the accounts
