This post is for people who has Australian dream

    Skilled Migration - Australia

I am going to talk about skilled migration process in this post. Subclass 189 (and 190, as most of the process is similar to 189) Visa.

Two types of PRs that will be talked about:

    189: Skilled Independent Visa

    190: Skilled Nominated Visa

    189: Skilled Independent Visa

This is Permanent Resident Visa that is valid for 5 years and you can live and work in any part of Australia.

    190: Skilled Nominated Visa

This is Permanent Nominated Resident Visa that is valid for 5 years, but you are under moral binding of the state that sponsor's you that you have to live and work in that particular state of Australia.

After this 5 year duration; you can either keep on living in Australia - as this Visa will allow you to continue to live in Oz even after 5 years - but you can not re-enter after this duration using this Visa. To do that you will be required to apply for RRV (Resident Returning Visa) or Citizenship depending on your choice and also on criteria given by DIAC (Department of Immigration & Citizenship).

Complete process of getting a PR for Australia - starts and revolves around the points you score and proving the same. Currently for getting eligible for these PRs - one needs at-least 60 points.

    Points for English language ability

Points for English language ability : this is based on IELTS

That means your must have completed IELTS to start process

    Competent English—IELTS 6 / OET B - 0 points

    Proficient English—IELTS 7 / OET B - 10 points

    Superior English—IELTS 8 / OET A - 20 points

Here I only consider about IELTS because OET is not familiar in Sri Lanka

There are four sections in IELTS as Listening Writing Speaking and Reading

For each section you need to get 7 or more to gain points for this category

    Then

    Now you know the point table;

    Now plan to do IELTS

Then assess your skills from related organization in Australia

Last part is EOI. Expression of Interest.

    http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/

In this web page you can find a button on top right corner " Submit an EOI"

There are many questions related to previously given point table. You just have to fill it.

You need IELTS result sheet and skill assessment except to proofs of qualification such as degree, employment...

Please post or pm your questions. I will try my best to answer
