these phones are originaly locked by their carrier. these ppl r not talking about user code lock or security lock. it is the sim restriction, so called sim lock which can prevent the user from using different service provider sim card.

im not sure mobitel or dialog or any1 else in srilanka put a simlock to their phones before they sell them so ppl can only use their simcards.

but in EU and US almost every service provider place their simlock b4 they release their handset to market

so thats wot sim lock is all about
