what is the best camera brand........?..there are alot but and each one has its own pros and cons..... but as to my preference i loke Nikon and Canon...... most professional photographers use either of these two models.....

mega pixel?
there are DSLR's starting from 6 megapixel to 39 megapixel....in picture wise u will not see much different but the important thing here is if u have alot of megapixels u can get alot of picture details and this really helps when cropping a photo to a small size.... i prefer 10 megapixels upwards.......

optical zoom
Rather than telling about optical zoom i will call it the lens focal length.... and it totally differs from what u photograph..... for indoor shots and close subject photography u need to have wide angle lens (fixed focal) and u will have nice crispy shots than telephoto zoom lenses becos it doesnt invloves so many mirrors inside the lens bar.... but for wildlife photography u need to hav telephoto zoom lenses...bt nw these days u will have standard zoom lenses which can be used for portrtaits as wells for shooting far away subjects ...so i prefer 18mm t0 200 mm lens as a day today used lens......

i think this is mostly used in video camcoders which is not a successful zoom in terms of image quality cos u gonna drop a lot of it.......
