are you sure you have this much money with a permit ? 50,000,000 LKR = about $ 0.5 million. You can buy one of the most expensive cars/suv in the world. I think you are joking here. Having $0.5 million $ + a permit and asking here about affordable SUVs.

When importing a vehicle through a permit the vehicle should be brand new or less than one year used.. the engine capacity is 2000CC for petrol and 2600CC for diesel... and the maximum CIF value should be US $25,000 or equal amount of any other currency....

So as for my knowledge when you look for a SUV which suits all the above requirements, you wont be able to import a luxury, high end SUV like a Toyota Prado or a Mitsubishi Pajero. BUt you might be able to import small sized SUVs like Rav4.

But if you import a vehicle without a permit the only requirement is that the vehicle shouldnt be more than 3 1/2 years old.
