pet scan
I think this will be a white elephant.although we would be able to get the machine how r they going to find the radio isotopes for the pet scaner. currently they r doing this in a private hospital they get down the isotope day before test from India every time they do a pet scan as we don't have facility to store these isotope in sri lanka .to establish such facility would cost much more than the pet scan machine.
also I have seen patents with normal pet scans having dissaminated malignancies.
mri or some radiotherapy machine would be much more helpful in my opinion
this is just my opinion. not trying to take any credit away from the people who worked hard to make the pet a reality.hats off to those guys for their effort
