PIN CODE LOCK - ask everytime when you turn on the phone. this is SIM card based lock. you can turn on the phone with another sim card if "Security code lock" is not activated.
when you PIN code lock turned on, you can't use the sim card if you don't know the code even if you try to use the SIM in another phone.
you only allowed 3 attempts enter the correct PIN code. if you failed 3 times, sim card will be blocked and asks for PUK code which has to be obtained from the network provider.

Security code lock - ask the code when you insert a new SIM card.

you can activate both of them at once.

Default PIN code is different to sim card provider. ask network operator for default code.

Default security code for Nokia - 12345

go to settings -> security settings -> PIN code request to turn on the PIN CODE LOCK. you have only one attempt to enter the correct PIN code in order to change the settings. so be careful.

go to settings -> security settings -> security level to turn on security code lock.

go to settings -> security settings -> change of access codes to change PIN code or security code. you have only one attempt to enter the correct PIN code in order to change the PIN. so be careful.

security code is useless with thieves. there are software to reset it. even if you install the OS software it will get reset.

මට දැන ගන්න ඕන වුනෙත් එක මචන්, Phone එක On කරද්දි වගේම Keypad එක Lock වුනාම ආයෙත් Unlock කරද්දි අපේ Secret Code එක ගහලා On කරන එකයි, කොහොමද එක හදා ගන්නේ.
