No.. The entire Toshiba e-Studio series is fine. All copiers have mechanical issues, like worn out rollers etc, but this model doesn't have specific issues.
But note that this copier is obsolete.

Don't buy 256, lot of software problem. Buy 255

Can you please mention a few of these problems. I have about 30 odd Toshiba e-Studios, mostly the 3500s and 4500s. Also had a 255 discarded early year after using for nearly 6 years, two 256s and a 356 (smaller ones due to space constraints). Never had any software bugs. There were one or two internal HDD failures which needed the entire software rebuild.
Also have another 10 Nos Canon Image Runner IR5500 Advanced MFCs. Both Toshibas & the Canons are quite reliable. Of course you need to change drums and parts that wear away. (also some parts tend to break when users pull away really jammed paper without calling the IT staff for help)
Both 255 and 256 are obsolete products really.

Dear brother, you are quite correct. But in my area ratnapura, 256 gave lot of troubles. Here in this area lot of power cut. I think 256 os is Linux. It takes lot of time to reboot when power failure. Also has toner chip. Yes Toshiba is most reliable copier to Sri Lanka. Cheap spares, lot of tec people, fewer maintenance, etc...

Oops...You must be having a 256 with a slow processor and minimal RAM. Usually you should not turn them off... but you cannot do anything if power fails. But the usual boot time is around four to five mins if you don't have any HDD issues. Actually the older 256's had VxWorks which was fast, but the later ones had a modified Debian release and slow boot. Thanks!
