Depends on your talent. You are selling your talent bro - the language does not matter. Both are equally popular, good and have their own pros and cons.
(I'm a PHP guy and quite happy I chose this path).

ASP higher paid but less opportunities
PHP good and even you can do freelancing (free hosting and so many free stuff where as you have to pay everything comes with .net)
