Some officials are using unauthorized number plates- RMV
The Department of the Registration of Motor Vehicles (RMV) says some parliamentarians and government officials are using unauthorized number plates on their vehicles bearing the number sequence ‘WPC – 2008/2009’ instead of the authorized ones.
Sources from the RMV explained that the authorized red number plates issued for either for security purposes or for the transportation of vehicles from the access points such as the port or airport to the dealers has the number sequence ‘WPC 9 xxxx’ and the RMV keeps records of such number plates.
The official was responding to a complaint received to Daily Mirror by a reader who said he was involved in a hit-and-run situation with a vehicle using an unauthorized number plate.
