It was on a crowded street that I saw you first
The road was muddy from last night's rain.
Yet people were busy with their chores
It was just another typical day for everyone.
Then i saw you- weak and gloomy
Shivering in the cold, tail down, ears covering the sad face.
Nobody seemed to notice you, but i did.
I stood there looking at you
And you saw me and crept towards me.
Staring through a pair of sad eyes
Searching for kindness and a home.
You were starved and hopeless
And thought that i was an angel
Sent down to help you.
I would have loved to be one, but i was helpless too.
Somehow or other, you figured it out yourself
And turned back towards busy crowd
Away from me
