The degree merely proves that you have proper academic background in IT, which is somewhat a base qualification requirement for most of the companies. Don't listen to other people, look through topjobs and see what companies want.

Like previous comments mentioned, your experience/know-how of a specific field or language (Web - HTML/CSS/PHP/JS) will affect the salary, big time.

Academic background will help you when building software, ie:- Applying OOP concepts.

BIT is totally fine, but get some experience and certifications.

    Good luck.

The degree it self will not earn you any job. You must have a proficient knowledge in any of the main stream technologies\languages, to say the least. And you may need to brush up your English language skills for that matter. My advice for you is learn some technologies, do some projects, build a portfolio and be comfortable with what you do. When developing software incorporate design patterns, best practices, coding standards, PM documentation to your projects. Best way to do that is use/contribute to opensource frameworks, apis etc... and apply for a job with a good cv Or start your own start up.
