compare the memory clocks first, if it was used as 8x AA of course the ATI will get a hit. thats because it has a massive frequency in memory clock than the GTX 295. Again GDDR5 and GDDR3 comparisons

BTW u agree that 4870X2 is better than 295 in high-End gaming
Anyway both Red & Green guyz hav a big competition... But 4870X2 still wins with Max Res. & Max AA
But wot nVidia has done.... They put a huge price tag than X2

Cuz 295 gives huge FPS under low settings

HD 4870x2 was out for a while now but the GTX 295 just came in, prices will fall eventually admit it the nvidia has done a good job using only GDDR3 against GDDR5 now i guess its at it limits.And when the new geforce series rolls out we'll see who has conquered it....http://www.tipidpc.com/viewtopic.php?tid=172146

so they dnt searching for GDDR3 or GDDR5. They want one thing its Big gaming performance for their worth money...

If u r waiting for 295 Price cut its a dream...
Cuz when nVidia cut down by 1$, ATI will cut down by 2$....
So always ATI gives much performance than nVidia for customers money

You are not getting my point, of course its good to have competitors otherwise we'll get bored! What I meant is just imagine, ATI launched its card before the NVIDIA right? so what would have happened If NVIDIA was the first one to launch its GTX 295 BEFORE the ATI 4870x2? then by this time the price of the GTX will somewhat lowered down while ATI is priced high, and even now would you go for the ATI?

ps. Dont talk about the price talk about the performance. its what this threads topic is about

AMD and ATI are cheap alright but they have a problem handling all that technology and they are not soo high end when it comes to overclocking most of them have stability issues.

I'm with u there machan coz in lower resolutions high end cards and mid range cards(8800GT,9800GTX....) are not much difference.in higher resolution where higher gpu really works 100%.so if guyz are using like more than 24 inch monitor resolution it's worth buying Very nigh pricey vga like 4870x2 or a 285.
PS-Playing games on a 1080p HD TV does mean that u are using a high resolution

4870/260GTX are enough for 1920x1200 imho.
