Hillary Clinton speaks of her pain and shame at the Monica Lewinsky scandal

    Monica_Lewinsky_266715a.jpg

Hillary Clinton spoke yesterday of the pain and embarrassment caused by her husband’s affair with Monica Lewinsky, ten years after the scandal erupted and at the height of a presidential campaign when women will be crucial to her White House hopes.
“I never doubted Bill’s love for me, ever,” Mrs Clinton said in an interview on Fox’s Tyra Banks Show, aired on the eve of the Nevada caucuses today, her next contest with Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination.
“But I had to decide what I ought to do, I think it is so important to be able to hear yourself at a moment when it is hard . . . there are so many times when you really have to listen to yourself.”
Asked by Banks whether she was embarrassed by Mr Clinton’s relationship with Ms Lewinsky, which eventually led to his impeachment, she said: “sure, all of that.”

The former First Lady also said that she was asked by other women “all the time” about what to do with unfaithful husbands. “I say you have to be true to yourself, no one story is the same as any other story,” she said.

i have seen that there are some buddhist sri lankans having special pleasure by blaming their own kind and religion.

most of them are doing that to have an anger oriented pleasure, rather than to pointing out our faults and then to correct them.

cos their speach doesnt contains a part which would discuss the matter properly or anything like how to correct that problem etc.

even i have seen a lot of buddhist monks also doing that.

specially theres a kind of monks who talk with anger, and with less self control. while the other type is talking in a very calm, peaceful but very intelligent way.

just a special thing i have been observing for a long time.

    In US there are people
    who stand up against them.
They have the freedom to do so.

In Sri Lanka no one say a word.
    If anyone does,
    he would be killed
    or meet an accident.

    1. Here you are not expressing your opinion. If you were i wouldnt have a problem with it. It seems like ur poking fun out of the issue.

    2. Dude I am in USA. No one openly goes and utters shit and expect to be treated kindly. People try to be very politically polite when they express their opinions here.

But true in Sri Lanka the freedom of speech is quite restricted.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, addressing the UN Security Council, Wednesday, noted that rape has been used as a weapon of war in the Balkans, Burma, Sri Lanka and elsewhere and that in too many countries and in too many cases, the perpetrators of this violence are not punished, and so this impunity encourages further attacks.
The U.N. Security Council meanwhile yesterday unanimously adopted a resolution creating new tools to combat sexual violence against women and children in conflict situations. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton chaired Wednesday's meeting, which came on the last day of the United States' presidency of the council.

Well even USA is not perfect. There is something called the USA Patriot act which was signed by the Bush Administration just after the 9-11. This law gives federal officials the authority to arrest people who say anything in support of terrorist ideology. This clearly undermines the principles of the first amendment to the US constitution, which is the hallmark for freedom of speech in America. Because of this act, so many scholars have been deported from USA because they had an opinion which the government didn't endorse.

In Sri Lanka, there is no law, but you get taken away in a white van. lol

    ya the white van:lol:

Usa the prob is the Jews They Fireup the USA government ..
They hate Islam and muslims thats tha main reason here..
almost 70% of money made in USA belongs To Jews..
    even obama is under them..:baffled:

as she says there are country's which rape is legal russia is one of them..

Sexual harassment okay as it ensures humans breed, Russian judge rules
A Russian advertising executive who sued her boss for sexual harassment lost her case after a judge ruled that employers were obliged to make passes at female staff to ensure the survival of the human race.

    By Adrian Blomfield in Moscow
    Last Updated: 1:12PM BST 7 Aug 2008

The unnamed executive, a 22-year-old from St Petersburg, had been hoping to become only the third woman in Russia's history to bring a successful sexual harassment action against a male employer.

She alleged she had been locked out of her office after she refused to have intimate relations with her 47-year-old boss.

"He always demanded that female workers signalled to him with their eyes that they desperately wanted to be laid on the boardroom table as soon as he gave the word," she earlier told the court. "I didn't realise at first that he wasn't speaking metaphorically."

The judge said he threw out the case not through lack of evidence but because the employer had acted gallantly rather than criminally.

"If we had no sexual harassment we would have no children," the judge ruled.

Since Soviet times, sexual harassment in Russia has become an accepted part of life in the office, work place and university lecture room.

According to a recent survey, 100 per cent of female professionals said they had been subjected to sexual harassment by their bosses, 32 per cent said they had had intercourse with them at least once and another seven per cent claimed to have been raped.

Eighty per cent of those who participated in the survey said they did not believe it possible to win promotion without engaging in sexual relations with their male superiors.

Women also report that it is common to be browbeaten into sex during job interviews, while female students regularly complain that university professors trade high marks for sexual favours.

Only two women have won sexual harassment cases since the collapse of the Soviet Union, one in 1993 and the other in 1997.

Human rights activists say that Russian women remain second-class citizens and are subjected to some of the highest levels of domestic abuse in the world.
