do you think inflation is legalized theft ? why would the innocent citizen lose money for being in a mismanaged country ? lets say you earned 10000 by working so many hours 10 years back. the value of your 10 000 is peanuts now. who stole your hard work ?

Inflation is inevitable (in any country) with economic growth.. in fact, its a part of it. Inflation can happen due to many reasons.
Problem is high inflation due to careless money printing (like happening in SL right now.)
U can call it legalized theft by the politicians. Your money loose value. Thats y u can and should invest money always.. at least in a Fixed Deposit.

sometimes i feel investing on gold is better than saving it as paper money. we have become slaves of this money printing economic system

I'm also bit worried about investing in LKR. On the other hand, USA was printing USD like crazy last 12 months.
I heard that Best thing is to collect Canadian dollars.. It's going UP against LKR & USD. So buy CAD if u can..

GOLD is a complicated subject. Reasons-

1. have to pay high price to buy
2. shops pay low price when buying back
3. need to pay for a bank deposit box
4. No big ROI
