This is the best punishment to these horrible 'Sex Beggers'...
I have been a victim of harassment at public places in Sri Lanka - once, twice, thrice..oh...more than 50 times.
But never had the facilities to reveal the abusers. I would have complained, but 'Law' is a wrecked ship without evidence, and lack of law enforcement officers.
Who is there to protect us? Absolutely Nobody!
If we fight back at the scene, we'll be called "vesi" (prostitute), "baduwa" (again prostitute), "balli" (bitch).
If we 'somehow' get the police to hold an inquiry, ah, that's the beginning of a new harassment - followed by online stalking and extreme public embarrassment..
Only another Sri Lankan woman (except frogs in the well) can truly understand this situation. Sad, but this corrupted system left us with no option... Thanks to social media, we can now punish these men in the most unethical way and enjoy that cruel happiness - an emotion women secretly enjoyed within!!!!
My little Mantra - "when can we turn this naturally beautiful island into a place where a woman is safe to walk alone in midnight?".. Sigh!

Today as I was walking past the "tyre junction" in Kelaniya, not one, but TWO vehicles stopped, catcalled and asked me if I wanted to hop into their vehicle. Out of the blue. Completely violating my rights. And most importantly, making it yet again apparent that women cannot walk even in a street, without feeling unsafe.
The dude in the red car in fact, drove past me and had the audacity (and even time!) to stop by the way side and wait till I pass again to say it all over again *three times. Again, not once, not twice but THREE times!*
Frankly, I am sick and tired of these men trying their best to bully and harass women on the streets, on public transportation and in any public place.
Luckily, I had my phone with me and I was able to capture photos of both these vehicles. When I tried to take a picture, one guy turned his head away and drove away quite fast, with a murmur of a pathetic sorry following him.
I am sharing these pictures for anyone, if by any chance knows these two men, or identify the vehicle numbers to get back to me, and help me NAME and SHAME these abusers.
PS: I also urge you to share whenever possible pictures of similar scenarios, and the harrassment you go through (on a DAILY basis) so that we can collectively NAME and SHAME these perpetrators who make it impossible for a woman to feel safe anywhere.
