You can create an account with another broker and ask this new broker to transfer your old shares to your new broker account.
you will have to sign some forms thats all. no need consent from the old broker. but if you have money (or you owe them) in your old broker account then you will have to talk to your old broker.
you can have multiple broker accounts with multiple brokers.

most of the guys that are assigned to retail investors like us are not with much knowledge.
so you cant expect much help from those guys. unless you are lucky.
there are two popular investing forums in SL (im not sure if im allowed to publish links here) do a google search ask your questions there.
best thing to do is do our own study.

Very tricky place to invest bro. you have to find profitable shares and invest, although there is a trend of share prces are going down, few has upside trends too

how can we learn it ? any good sources ?
any tips for a beginner ?
Yes broyes you can have serveral sharebrokers. no need of their consent to transfer exisitng portfolios. you open new account and give your consent to new broker to add your existing portfolio to your new account. they they will get it done.
by the way, does JKH brokers offer their services to individuals? as far as I know they only provide services to institutional clients?
Yes bro
My present broker is jkh. Poor service. May be becoz im an individual client.
In early May there was heavy drop of shares. I called jkh to buy shares as soon as possible at the time. They didn't work. But hnb and other brokers fully functioned those days.
self learning is the best bro, buy some shares from small quatity and monitor their behaviour daily/ hourly basis.........Get a broker who offers online trading facility
other than that you can go through financial analysis and qualitative analysis
financial analysis - every company should upload their P&L balance sheet annualy and quartly. you can refer them and understand profitability of company (eps ad etc)
Qualitative analysis :- information from various sources such as newpapers/ internet/ people and etc.
A good source is forum.srilankaequity.com but dont take what people told their as it is because some promote certain shares to get high price
All Shares i have purchased through JKH brokers. But their service is very poor. Do i need their consent to appoint new Broker?
Can we have several stock brokers to our CSE account?
https://www.youtube.com/user/fsamanthikatry these forums, go through old posts specially the ones around 2011 to 2013 where most of the retail investors lost their hard earned money.
