Wow! You are the only and the first guy who said that Shazam is a let down.. All i heard were raving reactions for the flick.. I didn't watched it yet, so can't really tell me my take on it.. but damn i was surprised.. But then again there's always a one...

Definitely. I watched it yesterday. Really good movie. Perfect balanced between humor and emotions. Perfect film for family.

1. Its too close to the comic book story line... waaaaaayyy too close except the arc of the villain.

2. When is hollywood going to stop casting Mark Strong in a typical british villain roles. Its just tiring now.

3. Its just a glorified family Christmas movie with super powers. It even revolves around Christmas of all times even.

4. A family movie about the the strength of family, friendships and faith etc etc... seriously ???

I dont know man... the only punch line out of the film I got was ... "hey I am a punk ass bitch kid.. I got super powers and I am cool now... now I love my foster family and I turned them to a bunch of my clones"

the equal film of a similar line came out recently was "Venom"... and compare the story progression, the character arc and the villain execution...Shazaam is a far cry from what it potential had been.

Dude, Shazam is super hero movie. What did you expect? Tarantino or Nolan film?

First what kind of comic book fan whining about movie story being similar to comic story?

Second what's the problem with Mark strong? He did good job as villan. How you have problem about casting of film as a movie fan?whats the problem using him in many films if he do justice to his character?

Third do you even movie bro? You have just spoiled movie without even using Spoiler alerts.

Forth Like you have said before it's family film. What we can expect from family film? A discussion about global warming? Or global food crisis?

It's looks like superhero genre is not for you. Every superhero film is similar in story and character development in most of time. Except few superhero films like Nolan batman trilogy and Watchman.
