    they messed with kapu.

they messed big time managing him, good talent just wasted thanks to stupidity of SLC :dull: still he got age in his side and maybe they should give him a one more chance,BUT not at no.6 or 7 position.
And manage Chandimal properly or Chandimal will be the next Kapu

lanka ve un etaball gahanna hoda dakshayooo:rofl:

well ubat inne lanka we ne

agreed. they should avoid doing the same thing to chandimal. kapu was a brilliant fielder, big hitting bat, medium pace bowl. he may have had some lapses in technique or approach to an inning, but it could have been corrected by coach and other support staff. not only from his point of view, but even from the country's point of view the chances given to him got wasted by not properly handling him to get the best. even dilshan was mediocre in early days failing many a times, before reviving his batting.

i would like if Chadimal is being given more opportunities and make a try on this no 4 potion. it's more like experiment rather. you know sanga and mahela are the two most experienced and mature players in the team. it looks what they are try minimise impact in a disaster situation if both of them get out in a row. ;)

no 3 and no 6 are most crucial positions in a team. haven't change that, but i wonder why they promoted Angelo today

Opportunity should be given when they are in-form machan.Think little back try to remember what happened to Kapu.If this continues Chandimal can go either way.If we are so lucky he will be a force to reckon OR he can be next Kapu-given opportunity 90+ matches and failed cos opportunity was given when guy was out of form

yws feda.. dili ta benala wedak ne bng.. parajaya capa ge oluwema danna hoda ne... dilharata ctch allanna purudu karanna ona issarama.. methewsuth awul ne bng den,,, as a v,captn he hvn't any responsiblty
I'm not entirely talking about Dilshan and his captaincy.I'm talking about captaincy and batting order.Few players positions in the team are kinda always granted now machan.

a new captain can atleast make a fresh start with some noval ideas. dishan seems to be too over reactive and possessive. new roles also to be given to senior players. maybe ask sanga to come in the latter middle order, or bring a all rounder like jeevan mendis up in the order.

It's lucky that Dilshan found his way himself, cannot expect that from everyone mate.
btw who do you think will carry on from Dilly,Sanga,Mahela?
frankly no name comes to my mind :baffled:

Well judging by his scores on Aussie series and Pak series I don't think so mate.20-30's in 2-3 matches is not that great you know :(

could try  but i would personally think this will make things further worse. i have hardly come across such a shuffle in any other teams before.

it has got plenty of time to experiment before next WC, it's more important to pump young blood!!

My only concern he hasn't got that much shots in his armoury. I can remember he has got a good straight pull shot. but that'snot enough for a long run as an international cricketer.

in tests malinda warnapura and chandimal (but dunno whether they got/get enough chances to pursue)

    in ODIs chandimal, mathews

the biggest problem right now is there is a void of quality batsmen 'cos we didn't give some youngsters a fair chance. some got a match here and there but not anymore. i think more than correct balance, footwork we should be looking for stamina and tempermant. chamara silvas, dilharas they don't have the tempermant.

the main objective has to be world cup. the squad should be selected with the view of 2015 aus WC. maybe we don't need that much spinners. we may lose matches in sub cont. but let the fast bowlers bear the heat. our team usually did the most risk aversive stuff, in toss, team composition etc. but we should prepare for the opposite. if it is good to bat winning the toss, why not try to bowl 1st and win. why not go against the odds. maybe we will lose more matches. but this may help in a big event like WC.

it's miracle to produce quality past blowers from the sl pitches, into my understanding except trinity pitch most of other are flat pitches. we all know there is no cricket academies in sl. all these cricketers are(were) the production of school cricket. how many school cricket team has luxury of playing on live cricket pitches (not on matting wicket)? i would therefore see a long vacuum for a quality past blower after Chaminda Vass. Actually we were very fortunate to had Chaminda Vass (given consideration to these aspects he suppose to be the best fast bowler in the world). he used to be a great servant for our team for numbers of years. still i can remember his first days performance in NZ tour in early 90s.

without a doubt we need to produce good bouncy tracks in sri lanka. it will also help to strength batting performance of our batsmen. according to expert it could be a challenging task to produce boucy pitches with the sri lankan clay and climatic conditions, but need to find some solution rather dragging this agony!!
