please do ask from your friend at virtusa about how the newly recruited fresh grads from UOM CSE, UOM IT from 2012 pass out batch get paid (rumors are CSE batch top got a 150K salary ).. he will tell you how the other engineers who has been there for more than 2 years blame for this :P :P

and i dont think neither any one with 4 years degree from government university will go below 55K ( industry standrad ) because no one in my batch went for lesser than this, and 37 out of 39 are currently employed (other two go for HS )

I dont say there are not machan :D before dollor pass RS100 and inflation is not this much there were people from government campuses who work for 20K salary. Those days petrol was below Rs 100 and berad was below 30 :P

and there is another group the people who has 3 years degree. I dont support it but the truth is even now a days these companies have two pay schemes
    1. depends on degree duration..
    2. depends on University ( private or government )
    3. depends on name of the University ( this is for government unis)

so there are these descriminations going on. One of such famous thing is codegen :D ask from any one in industry they will say it is a camp of UOM CS people. only this year they had to go for UCSC special degrees cuz more than quarter of UOM CSE batch has been recruited by WSO2 :D

(and WSO2 is another CSE campsite :D )

that is the truth :( either you like it or not have to live with it and those fresh graduates recruited for the above mention companies go for not less than 55K

I have been working in the industry for more than 6 years now in various companies in various positions. I have even switched technologies in my career life and switched companies for lesser salaries sometimes.
Do not love the salary, Do not love the company. Love the profession.

Now I am a CTO, A consultant and a tech lead in 3 companies at the same time.
(Try to become a guy where people cannot live without)

Add as many items as you can to the belt and then you will have a tool for everything.
That's what I have done. I had hard times in financially but now I am in a good position.

This is a clear lie regarding UOM graduates. I do not know about the others. WSO2 recruiters were cursing Virtusa coz they made an offer of a six figure salary for the freshers from UOM CSE last year(I'm from IT Fac). However both CSE and IT people get least Rs.50k average. Never Rs.25k.
One of my batch mates who was an intern at Virtusa was offered Rs.65k during 2008. So there is discrimination of course.
Even at our times we got 40k-60k. So do your research my friend :).
