The Sri Lankan security forces (SF) fired barrages after barrages of multi barrel and artillery shells from early morning 1:00 a.m to 5:00 a.m on Wednesday. The indiscriminate shelling have caused some sort of casualties in the government announced new ‘Safe Zone,’ said a local aid worker in Vanni.
The roads leading to the new ‘Safe Zone’ also being targeted with heavy volumes of heavy weapons fire from the SF. The attacks on the civilians in Vanni claimed at least civilians lives of 108, at least 49 children, 21 women, and elderly while wounded at least 223 civilians according to the initial reports reaching TNS reporter.
