    legalize?? no!
u shd giv a proper sex education to everyone..
proper sex education does not stop prostitution. It only means they'll be using condoms.
Legalizing means there will be a proper medical check of all the workers and that they be recognized as legal workers, thus get the benefit of the legal rights and safe guards given to all workers.
Singapore is doing fine with this. No reason why SL cannot do the same.

Not so. There wont be any difference in the number using their services. On the other hand. it will mean a world of change to the workers in the trade.
For one, if its a legal trade, there wont be forced workers and the hygiene of their work place and the workers will be regulated. They will have to be paid at least minimum wage so they wont get cheated from the money they make.
Also if its legalized, the rates will be far higher than what it is now so, the actual number of users might actually go down. ;)

this means an intelligent country. In that context, there wont be a problem at all by legalizing it since intelligent people will be making intelligent decisions.
Besides, it was a legal and a noble profession at the time of the Lord Buddha. Why should it be a problem now ?

if its recognized as a legal trade, then it falls under general labor laws as well as trade specific labor laws. The trade specific ones will be addressing the rates, work environment and all that.

if its legalized, there wont be any "biliganeema" in to it. Also, if my kid wants to be a prostitute, nothing I say or do will change that. The only thing I can do is to teach her what the profession is and what dangers it has. Beyond that, its her decision. That is the reality.

BTW, if I'm "malli" to you, you must be as old as Atula. :P
