SSO - A missing feature in EK

ගොඩක් අය අලුත් UI එකේ පොඩි පොඩි අඩුපාඩු දානවනේ
මම නම් කිරියේ දකින ලොකුම අඩුපාඩුව තමයි Single Sign On (SSO) නැති කම

ඉස්සර 2009, 2010 වගේ නෙමෙයි දැන් ගොඩක් පාවිච්චි internet and social media use කරනවා මේ ඔක්කොම technical අය නෙමෙයි
මේ අය වගේ site එකක register වෙන්න නම් එක පුලුවන් තරම් ලේසි කරලා දෙන්න ඕනි
SSO තියනවනම් ලෙසියෙන් register වෙන්න log වෙන්න පුලුවන්

එතකොට sing up with google or sing up with Facebook වගෙ එකක් click කරල කෙලින්ම register වෙනවා
අලුතින් password දෙන්න ඕනිත් නෑ ආයේත් log වෙද්දි හරි google or Facebook log වෙලානම් නිකන්ම elakiri log වෙනවා

මේ feature එකත් දාගන්න පුලුවන් නම් Elakiri එකේ user base එක ගොඩක් වැඩි කරගන්න පුලුවන් කියලයි මට හිතෙන්නේ

SSO සරලව වැඩ කරන්නේ මෙහෙමයි
ඕකේ ප්‍රධාන entity දෙකක් තියනවා

1. Identity Provider (IDP)
2. Service Provider (SP)

Google ගත්තොත් Google accounts තමයි - Identity Provider (IDP)
එතකොට Youtube, Gmail, Blogspot මේවා ඔක්කොම Service Provider (SP) ල

SSO වලදි හැම වෙලේම user අඳුර ගන්නේ Identity Provider (IDP) මේකට කියන්නේ user authentication කියලා
user authenticate කරන්න ඉතින් username and password වෙනව Identity Provider (IDP) ට

පස්සේ authenticate එහෙම කරපු user ව redirect කරනවා Servide Provider (SP)ට
මේකෙන් වෙනෙන හැම වෙලේම sign in වෙන්න ඕනි එක පාරයි, username and password මතක තියාගන්න ඕනි ගෙ විතරයි

SSO දැම්මොත් Sign Up බටන් එකත් අත්‍යාවශ්‍ය නැහැ. ඒවා යල් පැන ගිය ක්‍රම.

උඹ ලොග් වෙනකොට උඹේ ප්‍රයිවසි ලීක් වෙන තැන් පෙන්නනවා, ඒවට උඹ එකඟනම් විතරයි උඹට Login/Sign Up වෙන්න පුළුවන්.

Honestly, a SSO benefits an Enterprise system. Easy to manage people, helps with regulatory compliance and often used with an Identity & Access Management system. For a message board where many wish to remain anonymous it might not be the best option. You are correct.

Public anonymous inna puluwan ubata display wenas karanna option eka tiyanawanam (Stackoverflow wage)
Habai itin admin or forum owner dannawa mokadda register unu account eka kiyala. Eka itin loku awulak nahane

kohomat SSO denna puluwan dan tiyana system ekath ekka, e kiyanne SSO natiwa account ekak hadanna puluwan

For public or members you can still be anonymous if the SP allows you to change details like display name and so but behind the scene SP knows which account you have used for SSO. I think its not a big deal as its just like you are using your email to register in EK.
