Machan....common rail engines are performing well to my knowledge.I'm using L200Animal cab for about 4 years and 80,000km done with common rail engine.
If you want to buy ,check the service records and i'm doing the service on time and to date my vehicle never give me a trouble as i'm travelling long trips.
Once i got the opportunity to go with fortuner on a slippery area and the vehicle was skidding.
But my double cab perform well in the same area and i think mitsubishi is heavier.
    If anything more please ask....

    thanks mate. valuable info:):)

yep, i have been in a montero sport several times and there isn't any serious complaints in comfort wise.:)

sure machan. would like to mention one more thing. Neither Montero sport or Fortuner are not good in handling department. There's a fair amount of body roll so if you are going to drive this more often in windy roads i think you wouldn't enjoy much. Sorento on the other hand would be a good choice i guess. What about Mitsubishi outlander ?. I dont know the prices. Hope you'd find a good vehicle. Good luck !

    I have few questions.
What is the diesel type used, super diesel or regular diesel?
what is the mileage you got?
how often do you changed the auto gearbox oil?
what are the oil types used in auto gearbox and engine?

MONTERO Sport is way way more comfortable than fortuner as L200 is comfortable than Hilux.

The engine is reliable, but not efficient as New Mitsubishi 2.4L diesel engine which comes in L200, Montero sport/ Pajero sport since 2016.

I have driven 2012 Montero sport and it feels ok to me, Actually, it was more or less the same as my L200, but bit more comfortable.

Don't listen to guys who says that it cannot be driven over 100 in highways, they are just bluffing or never driven anything.

Also I dont think freelander 2(2012~2013) is a wise choice in SL for 7ml, but worth if you could bargain it to 5.0~5.5 ml coz it will give lot of pain to yo ass when the day comes to sell it.
