I really can't understand what thirimanne is doing? Every time he walks out to the wicket runs are dried up completely. At least not even singles. That puts eminence pressure on his partner & rest of the batters to follow. There is no intent shown by him. Most of the times he eat up the balls & then get out. It puts that much more pressure on other batsmans. I agree you need a solid player to carry on the innings. But this type of blocking even without singles doesn't make any sense. It's not going to win matches for you. He just make some runs for himself not for the sake of team. In my view he still has very limited strokes to show. I think he should develop his stroke play. At least manure the ball better when boundaries aren't coming. Just look at last few innings how many deliveries he wasted & then got out..

Today 13*(49),6(19),7(31),57(86),9(28),1(10),7(24)..

So how we gonna win matches when our top/middle order bat like this. Not only him chandimal also fail match after match. At least he is not eating up the balls.

When these guys batting there is no pressure on the bowlers. Even the part timers get away with it. Needs to fix these dull batting otherwise we going no where in cricket.
