Ubuntu help needed

anyway here is my problem..please help me if u guys know abt it...

i installed ubuntu 7.10 and in the first log it gave me a message to install my vga drivers

my vga card is Geforce fx 5200. i installed the drivers and then restarted the machine,

when i came to the log in screen the display is going wild.cant see anything clearly..
some lines are going up and down ,, i think this is a resolution problem.
please help mee

Hmmm weird machan....it nicely detected my FX 5500...but ill i think the best thing for u 2 do is go to ubuntuforums.org...get registered there and post it in their forum...im pretty all the Linux Guru's will look in 2 ya problem Datz what i do...or log in 2 their IRC and chat there and ask for help

Did u try the Ubuntu IRC?? Maybe a live discussion will make sure that u get the answer somehow!!
