what about sri lankan professors ? whoz gives a shit about them .. plus well wine is open source and yea you cant run all the softwares on wine . but yea you can run the wanted softwares if you have the knowledge to config it in the right way.

and 4get about the safty we had that conversation few days back na .. when it comes to user friendlyness we are used to use linux and your used to windows so Windows is easy to you and linux to us.

hmmm.....can you teach me how to configure WINE....:nerd::D

    no....:no::lol::lol:

    i am saying all OS are the same...and the bullshit about linux being safer is just that bull shit....but certain sri lankan professors...try to bash that idea into their students...i just recommended Mac OS as having least problems and exploits....but its also not the safest.....when it comes to this modern age....no OS is safe...or can have the title of safest.....there is no such thing...

    just go for the OS you like....for reasons like performance...Software library...or just looks...its dosen't matter....and if your worried about security...ALL OS provide equal amounts of hardening methods to protect your computer....:lol:

    if anything Apple should pay me...but they don't....

    actually i did CEH training...and we are told to stay vendor neutral....we just say it as it is....:nerd:

    From my experience, I have seen that windows machines have more vulnerabilities than linux machines. I have used professional scanners like nessus, saint etc. How ever in our practical world in Sri Lanka, windows machines hit many severe vulnerabilities when I perform scans. I know all OSs have vulnerabilities. But Linux has less than windows. That is from my experience.
    Unfortunately I had not chance to scan an apple (apple gediyak neme)
    I feel tht apple design their thing with less custom-able. That is y they have less. But actually there are. If you check NVD you can find them, But you may knw tht i-Pad did nt have an USB port at 1st. Do u like those stuffs? But I dont like them.

    What is the best, win or ..buntu ?
    Arguing is not worth bro....
    The choice is depend on the tastes of users....
    They have their own specific features, different architectures....
    Purpose of the thread is to make aware the elakirians about the FOSS world.
