I'm 100% what said about Firfox 2.0 because I still have my old Firfox 2 backup on .html format.. You don't have to check with Firefox 2.0 Go check Firefox 3.0 Bookmarks Organizer still have a option to import bookmarks from HTML file..

This has nothing to do with what the file format is it's all about how the application read data from a file.. Remember .xls file format shared by many programs such as Email clients. which is normally Office Excel file..
